FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Cherish the Cakes appreciates your business and would like to ask you to review our frequently asked questions page. Please review and contact us as needed.
Cakes:
- What are Tiers vs Layers? Tiers are 2 or more cakes stacked on top of each other to produce a taller cake size. Layers are cakes that consist of 1 Cake with multiple flavored layers all in one cake. (Average cake is 2 Layers)
- What Cake Flavors do you make? Vanilla, Butter Cream, Red Velvet, Chocolate, Lemon, and Strawberry. Some cakes are made with Red Velvet and Cream Cheese.
- Can I get more than one Cake Flavor on a cake? Yes you can on cakes 2 Tiers or 2 Layers or higher; you can get more than one cake flavor.
- What is a Sheet Cake? A sheet cake is a flat cake that comes in different sizes. A full sheet is the largest size sheet cake available but a half sheet cake is most commonly ordered for smaller parties.
- Are Cakes Fresh or Frozen? All cakes are made fresh to order and none of our products are made frozen unless otherwise noted.
- Toys on Cakes? Toys are not supplied due to the large number of cakes we produce we don’t have the ability to keep the toys on hand for all of our cake products and won’t have the time available to find the specific toys you may need. We do however partner with a company called uHost Events that specializes in providing party supplies that include cake toppers, toys and pretty much all of your party supply needs.
- Butter Cream Cakes vs Fondant Cakes? All of our cakes are iced with buttercream which is a smooth, rich softer frosting. Fondant is a firmer icing type that are great for decorative cakes. They have a thin layer of sugar paste for a smooth finish. Fondant is only available for certain cakes. Most of our cakes will come with Butter Cream icing.
- I don’t see the cake I dreamed of? We can make any cake you can dream of. If you don’t see it here, please contact us to handle your custom cake order.
- Can I pickup my order early? Most of our products are ready the day of their event. However, all of our products are produced on a strict time schedule, so we recommend placing an earlier event time than the actual event day if needed.
Orders:
- All Orders must be placed thru the website http://cherishthecakeskc.com. Order placements via Facebook are no longer accepted.
- All orders from Cherish the Cakes must be placed 7 days prior to the scheduled event. There are no exceptions.
- Cake Orders that are for Weddings or other large corporate events are handled via consultations. Contact us for more information and to make an appointment.
- All orders that don’t consist of 3 Cake tiers or higher must be picked up in person at the bakery. All other Cherish the Cakes products must also be picked up in person.
Delivery & Care Instructions:
- Delivery Services: Available on orders of 3 Tier Cakes or more.
- Delivery Costs: 3 Tier Cakes or more incurs a Delivery cost depending on location. Within 20 miles of the bakery there is a $20 Delivery Cost and within 20-30 miles of the bakery there is a $30 Delivery Cost.
- Product Care: Your products are packaged securely and safely. Cherish the Cakes will not be responsible for any mishandling after pickup/delivery. Care Instructions will be provided.
Payments:
- A 50% Deposit is due at the time of order placement. Final Payment is due at Pickup of Cake unless otherwise noted. See payment chart.

Order Satisfaction:
- Product Placement: If there are concerns of any matter regarding your Cherish the Cakes order these are required to be addressed at the time of pickup or delivery. It is important to check merchandise and communicate concerns immediately. We can discuss a resolution to all concerns at that time.
- Taste Satisfaction: If there are concerns of any matter regarding your Cherish the Cakes taste of your order, these are required to be addressed by email within 24 hours of the scheduled pickup or delivery time. It is important to check merchandise and communicate concerns immediately. We can discuss a resolution to all concerns at that time.
